Ocean City Beach, Washington

Phil and I took the pups for a walk down to the beach this evening. The sun was setting and it was getting cool. The wind had picked up, so I had to put my hood up to keep from getting sand in my dreads.

The path from the campground to the ocean is about a quarter of a mile. When the tide is out, it is about the same amount from the edge of the beach to the water. I would have thought that the campground would widen the path, as it is quite narrow at times. I did not like getting poked by pine needles as I brushed past.

Then we walked through the meadow.

I flipped off my flip flops and walked barefoot on the cool sand. Had to watch my step so I didn’t mush on any of these clear jelly creatures that were spread over the beach.

The beach was beautiful – and empty.

We played with the dogs. Scooter ran around quite a bit, but Bear hung around us as he usually does. He is getting older and doesn’t have the stamina that he used to. Kind of like Phil and I.

Silly pups.

I found a gift from the sea as we headed back toward home. Halfway across the beach, a bright blue something in the sand caught my eye. A message maybe? Choose my mu- what? Music? Muse? I need a little more detail please.

We finally made it back to the campground before dark. Saw some new flowers along the way.
